Andrews & Robertson posts a strong £16.7 million, 73% July sale  

A busy sale room and confident bidding has delivered a strong set of results from our July auction, showing that the appetite amongst investors has not been dampened following the recent EU referendum. Held this week at The Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch, London, W1H, our commercial and residential property auction raised in excess of £16.7m from the 67 lots on offer.

The largest lot was a recently refurbished six bedroom, four floor, double fronted Victorian house located in Queens Park, NW6. Guided at £2,800,000, this substantial freehold property was offered with full vacant possession and sold prior to the auction for £2,826,000.

As ever, lots with development opportunity attracted strong interest from investors. A freehold cleared site in Brixton, SW2, with planning permission to build four contemporary family homes exceeded its £1,300,000 guide price, selling under the hammer for £1,450,000.

Other auction highlights included a long leasehold raised ground/first floor self-contained maisonette in Kennington, SE11 which surpassed its £475,000 guide price, selling for £561,000. And the good rental returns of Lot 37, a freehold two floor semi-detached house in Hammersmith, W6, arranged as two self-contained flats, attracted plenty of bidders with the gavel going down at £985,000, £285,000 above its guide price.
